Hello!
I'm a 39 year old English man living in Helsinki, Finland (http://maplered.com) . I've been making an investigation into Finland (http://maplered.com) 's Stone (http://g603.net) industry for the past 2?years, hunting for the Stone (http://g603.net) s and (http://maplered.com) their quarries which appear in 'The Natural Stone Hand (http://maplered.com) book' produced for The Finnish Natural Stone Association. There are 67 of these commercial Stone (http://g603.net) s although only about one third are actively quarried.
I already know quite a lot but is(are) there any kind person(s) who could provide me with more information - anything - about these Stone (http://g603.net) s? Where have Finnish Stone (http://g603.net) s been used, what are their histories??? Who knows anything about, for instance, 'Beaver Brown' from Porvoo, 'Lappia Salmon' from Viitasaari, 'Baltic Mahogany' from Konginkangas, 'Lappia Green' from Kittil? 'Dragon' and (http://maplered.com) 'Flamenco' from Orimattila, 'Amadeus' and (http://maplered.com) 'Flame Creek' from near Sulkava ???!!!
I've visited 52 quarries here in Finland (http://maplered.com) , been to most of the Stone (http://g603.net) companies and (http://maplered.com) processing sites. Also I'm interested in the Stone (http://g603.net) industry in the rest of the world, so here's a contact/penfriend for anyone just as daft !!!
